New Beginnings utilize the evidenced based Positive Parenting Practices (Triple P). The Triple P Program is a multilevel system of family intervention that aims to prevent severe emotional and behavioral disturbances in children by promoting positive and nurturing relationships between parent and child. NBLCSS parent educators also utilize The Strengthening Families Program (SFP). SFP is a nationally and internationally recognized parenting and family strengthening program for high-risk and regular families. SFP is an evidence-based family skills training program found to significantly reduce problem behaviors, delinquency, and alcohol and drug abuse in children and to improve social competencies and school performance. Services are strength based and family centered. NBLCSS use individual and group approaches. Parenting training strategies include peer support, involve fathers, promote positive family interaction and use interactive training techniques.
